In Shapar-Veraval, workers went on strike, highway was jammed, vehicles were vandalized, 4 stitches were blown off the head of the channel cameraman who was throwing stones.

Rajkot.  Due to the lockdown, foreigners have become adamant about going home.  Today in Shapar-Veraval in Rajkot, the workers insisted on going home.  The workers dispersed and landed on the National Highway.  Vehicles running on the highway were rocked and vandalized.  The workers also uprooted trees on dividers on the National Highway and smashed the windows of trucks and cars.  However, as soon as the incident was reported, police raided the National Highway and tried to control the situation.  Workers near Shapar have been found throwing stones at police.  The unruly mob pelted stones and vandalized, injuring several policemen and journalists.  So they have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.  Police have been called from the district to control the situation.  One channel's cameraman's head was blown off as the crowd pelted him with stones.  He has been shifted to hospital for treatment.  He has four stitches in his head.

Trying to explain SP Balram Meena

SP Balram Meena later gathered all the workers in one place and persuaded them not to take the law into their own hands.  The Gujarat government is sending everyone via tram.  Be patient and strict action will be taken against anyone who sabotages or engages in illegal activity.
