To control locust infestation in Amreli district, the Collector held a meeting with the officials of the Agriculture Department.
Locust infestation is also seen in Botad district. Hundreds of thousands of locusts have infested the surrounding villages, including Rampara in Barwala taluka, and locust infestation is affecting crops such as millets, sorghum and rajka. In order to repel the locusts, the farmers are chasing away the locusts by playing hakla padkara, dekara and thali.

Amreli District Collector held a meeting with the officials of Agriculture Department
A meeting was organized by District Collector Ayush Oak with the officials of Agriculture Department regarding locust control in Amreli district. Talking about this, the district collector said that 11 taluka wise teams have been formed for the control of locusts. These teams from the Department of Agriculture will inspect the entire area of locust infestation and conduct a survey. Currently all these teams are in the field and survey work has been carried out. A survey will be conducted by inspecting the area of locust infestation.
