PM Modi's big decision for farmers will benefit 60 lakh farmers in Gujarat

An important decision taken for the farmers in the Union Cabinet has greatly benefited 60 lakh farmers of Gujarat.  As Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has excluded farmers' produce from the Essential Commodities Act, good days have come for farmers.

In the cabinet meeting, farmers' produce like oil, pulses, cereals, potatoes, onions have been excluded from the Essential Commodities Act so they no longer have to sell these produce compulsorily in the APMC.  Farmers will be able to sell their produce in the market by opening a store or exporting it themselves.

Until now, the government had taken agricultural products under the Essential Commodities Act, so farmers were forced to sell their produce at the APMC and at the price they set, but now farmers can sell their produce if they get higher prices in the open market.

Not only that, farmers will be able to sell their produce directly to exporters or processors.  However, it has also been decided that a stock limit may be imposed in times of crisis or when inflation is on the rise.  The government has admitted that the Essential Commodities Act has caused a lot of damage to the agriculture department and farmers.

The government has said the act has not increased storage or exports.  There has also been no investment in this sector.  There is no problem of agricultural production in this country but now the farmers have got relief.  Farmers will also be able to build their own mandis.  Farmers in Gujarat will be able to sell their produce anywhere.

Experts say this is a very historic decision and also an adventure.  Because this will give impetus to the issue of doubling the income of farmers.  But he also has to be careful that the prices of these items do not go beyond the reach of the people.  Because direct sales in the market are likely to increase its prices.
