Big tweak to Congress ahead of Rajya Sabha polls: Vadodara MLA Akshay Patel's phone switched off, annoyed with state leadership

Ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, the Congress suffered a major setback.  According to information received, Akshay Patel has been annoyed with the state leadership for a long time.  Then MLA Akshay Patel also switched off the phone and is not at home.

Five Congress MLAs have resigned ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections.  Due to this political upheaval, the Congress has now lost one Rajya Sabha seat.  The BJP, on the other hand, came close to winning a third seat.  But sources are still saying that BJP is in the process of resigning 2 to 3 MLAs.

In Gujarat, three BJP and two Congress candidates are in the fray for four seats.  In Rajya Sabha elections, the one-to-one vote of the elected MLAs is very important.  According to the arithmetic of the Rajya Sabha, the total number of members of the Legislative Assembly has to be divided by the number of candidates and whatever amount is needed to win the votes.  There are currently a total of 174 MLAs in the Legislative Assembly.  Five candidates are in the fray.  So according to this math, if a candidate gets 35 votes, the candidate can win.  BJP needs a total of 35 × 3 = 105 votes to win its 3 candidates.  But at present the BJP has a strength of 103 MLAs.  Apart from this, the BJP also has to get the votes of both Kandhal Jadeja of the NCP and MLAs of the Indian Tribal Party for a direct victory.

Congress, on the other hand, needs 35 × 2 i.e. 70 votes to win its two candidates but it has 68 votes.  If an MLA breaks down, the number of members becomes 67.  Even if independent candidate Jignesh Mewani votes for the Congress, the Congress will lose two votes.  In these circumstances Narhari Amin wins based on the vote of second preference.

The BJP has 103 MLAs and gives all its second preference to Narhari Amin. Despite such a direct victory, the BJP is still in the mood to break two Congress MLAs.  Because BJP has not lost any of these three seats.  Even though the legislators are practicing one-sidedness, the debris is often broken.  During the last Rajya Sabha elections, senior leader R.  C.  Faldu made a mistake in casting his vote and his vote was canceled.  BJP does not want to take a risk at such a time.  Modi and Shah have set a target for Gujarat BJP to win 3 seats.  3 out of 4 seats belong to BJP.  The BJP does not want to lose a single seat under any circumstances.
