If the stadium is not allowed to be used as a quarantine center, action will be taken under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
Mumbai: In view of the rising incidence of coronavirus in Maharashtra, the BMC has directed the Mumbai Cricket Association to hand over the famous Wankhede Stadium. Wankhede Stadium will be turned into a quarantine center for corona infected patients. The patient will be quarantined. The Mumbai Cricket Association has also assured assistance.

In a letter to MCA, the Assistant Commissioner of MCGM said that the manner in which hotel-lodge, club, college, exhibition center, marriage hall, gymkhana, banquet hall are handed over with immediate effect. An order is being issued to convert the stadium into a quarantine center.
